L3-TV: Put me in coach, I’m ready to play [clap, clap-clap-clap] today.

I always joke that although I’ve never held the official title of “human resources” or “talent manager”, I’ve always played one on reality TV in every single career incarnation I’ve had, from higher education to hi-tech to marketing communications.

Because that’s what we do as talent managers — leader-coaches if you will — in any organization, regardless of shape, size or stage.

We all:

  • Recruit
  • Hire
  • On-board
  • Train
  • Retain
  • Review
  • Coach
  • Counsel
  • Promote
  • Befriend
  • Berate
  • Terminate
  • Lay-off
  • Develop others into new talent managers

And then the cycle repeats, reacts, retracts and redeems — breathing organically as it does in reality. Every single person I’ve ever managed and every single manager who’s ever managed me has left an impact on me, on where I’ve been and on where I’m going now.

This is why I’m so very passionate about delivering L3 Leadership Learning:

  1. Learning to Lead Self — Total Life Leadership
  2. Learning to Lead With Others — Cultivating Collaborative Advantage
  3. Learning to Lead Others — Creating The Best Place To Work

Developing the best that we can be with:

  1. Authenticity
  2. Integrity
  3. Balance & Integration

Because as talent managers — leader-coaches — we have the opportunity to exercise our own emotionally intelligent development, so that it goes viral throughout an organization and beyond.

Which is good for the heart, the mind and everyone’s bottom line.

Be better and brighter.

Put me in coach, I’m ready to play [clap, clap-clap-clap] today.
